Does Family Life Feel Chaotic?
You don't have to choose between your child's needs and your own.
Maybe you relate to this scenario:
You’ve tried to stay calm when your child melts down.
You’ve read the books, followed the tips, and promised yourself that next time will be different.
But in the moment, your body takes over—and you end up right back in the same old loop.
Real-Time Self-Care was created for parents who want to break that cycle by turning the storms into connection and joy.
Through simple, science-backed tools, community support, and lots of practice, you’ll discover how to parent in a way that feels energizing rather than draining.
Book a Discovery CallChildren need thriving parents to thrive.
According to the Surgeon General’s 2024 advisory, 48% of parents feel completely overwhelmed by stress on most days—almost double the rate of non-parents. (For parents of kids with special needs, we can probably quadruple that!) And yet, parenting experts say most people are doing too much for their children, robbing children of resourcefulness, self-confidence, and the resilience they need to thrive.
We LOVE our outstanding children (amazing children who stand out). They (and you) need parenting practices that honor these children's augmented nervous system strengths and vulnerabilities. The typical ways we parent in our society drain parents and STILL does not set children up for their best lives.
This is partly because these children's nervous systems needs make them more sensitive to our societal deviation from how children were raised for 95% of human evolution. Outstanding children tend to be less adaptive to modern parenting practices.
This course integrates ancient wisdom with modern neuroscience to meet children's needs in ways that don't exhaust you. Our typical parenting practices are so stressful, it's needed even if you don't have a child who stands out!
It’s time to make your needs matter too. In this course, you’ll learn how—by applying the same principles that help kids build emotional strength and resilience.

How is this course different? In it, we...
- Provide you with live coaching sessions and a community forum that address the specific challenges you face as a parent. Our approach is different from what you've likely read in. Parents tend to come to us after finding that the typical, conventional advice hasn't worked for their child and that we're the first people to help things get better!
- Surround you with a community of parents who support you as you try new strategies together. We've got an online community, buddies, and community of practice groups, all designed to make sure you don't feel alone on this journey.
- Walk you through the process step by step all along the way. Our videos are just around 15-minutes each so as not to overwhelm you. You also have a variety of ways to take in the information: live classes twice a month, group coaching calls, and the asynchronous content that is always available whenever you are.
This course does more than dole out information. It is designed to help you absorb it with opportunities to practice and get lots of support.
This program is effective for your outstanding child.
We successfully work with families who have children with challenges like...
- Autism, ADHD, and PDA
- Mental Health and Learning Challenges
- Developmental/Complex Trauma
- Medical Complexity
- Quirks: Outstanding qualities families still haven't figured out, or that don't require a diagnosis, or for which families don't feel the need or have interest in a diagnosis.
Here are what people have said after applying the principles of this course:
Rachael struggled with a perennially disorganized house and two daughters at each other's throats with constant bickering. They were so vicious with trying to get a reaction out of each other that it left everyone feeling resentful and completely drained of energy.
"As soon as I started doing the things taught in this course, things became so much easier. When I learned to understand them, it was easier to love them. I went from being frustrated, and reacting to my girls to a life feeling calmer and more in control of my home. It freed up more energy to develop my interest in Feng Shui and my home has become harmonious with much less of the effort. Our home life has completely transformed. My girls rarely fight now, and when they do, they are able to resolve it peacefully." Rachael H.
Sarah was exhausted, drowning in clutter, constantly trying to calm a child who was flying off the handle over small things all day. After applying one of the main principles of this course, she said,
"After one day, I felt like a different person. After three days, I had a different kid. He was able to accept a 'no,' and would cheerily say, 'Maybe tomorrow!' Everything is feeling easier. Taking the pressure off to get everything done suddenly made it possible to get everything done. My body is able to feel pleasure now, and my brain is happier." Sarah H.

Our Real-Time Self-Care course combines strategies from ancient wisdom, current neuroscience, and growth-promoting joy that move relationships from challenging to smooth...and even fun!
- Ancient Wisdom: 95% of our evolutionary history was spent as hunter-gatherers. Modern hunter-gatherer societies around the world parent in very similar ways. We study how these modern Indigenous cultures parent in common and find that when we apply these methods to our clients, children transform, family life becomes calmer and easier, and more joy flows.
- Current Neuroscience: We teach neurodevelopmental approaches to parenting so that you can tailor your expectations of your child to their nervous system reality. Our sources include neuroscientists Dr. Bruce Perry, Dr. Bruce McEwen, Dr. Allen Schore, Dr. Daniel Siegel and Dr. Stephen Porges. We use Connie Lillas' NeuroRelational Care as a framework that synthesizes this work and breaks it down into executional steps.
- Growth-enhancing Joy: Joy is the fuel that propels development, and there isn't enough of it in our society's modern family experience. The missing joy impacts both children's adults' emotional health. The Real-Time Self-Care course modules build on each other to lay a foundation from which joy can spring.
5 Modules to take you from disillusioned and exhausted with parenting to confident and connected--both with yourself and your child.
While the course is self-paced, each module is designed it to be completed within an average of two months, averaging 6 weeks each.
